In Fortnite: Battle Royale Season 5 Chapter 2 has begun! Accordingly, some changes have been made to the map. We at MeinMMO show you what’s new on the map and in the game world of Fortnite.
What’s happening in Fortnite: The start of Season 5 is finally here, and with it:
- a new Battle Pass
- new weapons
- and some features that haven’t been seen before.
- However, the map has also changed after Galactus arrived in the Fortnite world and tried to absorb the Zero Point.
Some locations have now been added to the map, while others have received a styling and a name change. You can immediately see that a lot has changed on the map:
4 new locations on the Fortnite map in Season 5
Apart from the Crystal Desert, which becomes immediately visible when looking at the map, there are 4 more locations that have been added.
Hunter’s Haven: This location is still known from Season 2 – Chapter 2 as a Shadow base. It was previously accessible. Later, the Sentinel graveyard was found there in Season 4.
Now, the spot has turned into a small “town,” with several buildings. This means: There are now many more opportunities to collect loot.
Salty Towers: The location itself is not new but rather an old acquaintance that has been with us since the beginnings of Fortnite. So far, the town of Salty Springs hasn’t changed much, apart from a few adjustments for the respective season.
However, Salty Springs has now grown and is called Salty Towers. The town is larger and has merged with Tilted Towers, a location familiar from the early days. Even the tallest building from back then can be found here again.
Colossal Coliseum: In the center of the map, there is now a Crystal Desert, and there you will also find the new Coliseum. The large building is meant for players to compete against each other.
This new location will likely play a larger role in the story of Fortnite and the bounty quests. We will surely see what will develop from that.
Stealthy Stronghold: Here you will even find a whole jungle on the Fortnite map. Although it is surrounded by high walls, once you sneak in, you are surrounded by trees.
Interesting battles will surely arise here, as there are so many hiding spots. So if you ever wanted to visit a jungle, you should embark on your journey to Stealthy Stronghold.
What else has changed? In addition to the new large locations, there are other smaller changes on the map. Here’s what’s changed:
- Risky Reels has now become a guarded location. There are now bots that will attack you as soon as they spot you.
- Pleasant Park has returned after being taken over by Doctor Doom in the last season
- The Battle Pass skin Mancake has also received a location dedicated to him
Surely more locations will be discovered that have changed but are not immediately visible. We will update the article for you as more locations appear.
The map has undergone some changes with the start of Season 5. This is partly related to the bounty hunts. Other locations, such as the Crystal Desert, were ravaged following the live event.
