Fortnite is now working with Unreal Engine 5.1. This means that next-gen features such as Nanite, Lumen, Virtual Shadow Maps, and Temporal Super Resolution are now available. But only in Battle Royale on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and cloud gaming. But what does that mean?
- Nanite is a high-resolution architectural geometry. Landscapes and materials such as stones are rendered in great detail.
- Lumen affects the lighting. Light on objects and surfaces now appears differently.

Long before the start of the live event, there are already leaks about the event. Data miner Shiina has uploaded a video on his YouTube channel that is supposed to be the trailer for Chapter 4.
The leaked gameplay video
In the trailer, you can see Geralt of Rivia, whom you know from the Witcher series. The video shows how the map is divided into individual parts and is in weightlessness. Then the zero point draws individual pieces closer and assembles the new map. This is apparently the map you will play on in Chapter 4.
