In Fortnite, new hints and leaks have surfaced indicating Season 3. What makes this special is that the season could take place entirely underwater. These hints support that.
What are these leaks? After the deployment of Update 12.50 on April 29, data miners found new hints about the next Season 3 in the data of Fortnite.
Three posters have been discovered that are meant to tease Season 3. They show skins from the Battle Pass of Season 2, a house on a floatie, and a shark.
What stands out here are the floatation devices and the abundant water. In Season 3, everything could revolve around water and swimming. This would fit perfectly with the summer season, as Season 3 starts in June.
The posters have not only been leaked, as pieces of them can already be found on the Fortnite map. The data miner Stormscar found a piece of the house poster in Lazy Lake. (via Twitter)
How this will be implemented is unfortunately still unclear. According to the images, it could look like this:
- Houses could be on the floaties and players would have to swim from one house to another
- The shark could be a mode of transportation or a challenge where players must fight against it
We will probably have to wait for more teasers to see how this could develop.
What else supports this theory?
What additional hints are there? The biggest hint suggesting a season underwater comes from all the players who experienced the “Travis Scott” concert live.
There was a scene where players suddenly found themselves underwater and could even swim. When looking down, it could be seen that the whole map was flooded.
If this mechanic works and Epic might have wanted to test it in the event, it should now be implementable.
There are already a few theories about how Season 2 could end. They talk about an apocalypse event with a weapon that is said to be so powerful that it could destroy the entire map. This theory would fit well with the hints regarding Season 3. Here you can see everything we already know about the end of Season 2.
