The start of Season 5 Chapter 2 in Fortnite: Battle Royale introduced exotic weapons into the game. A dataminer has now discovered additional weapons in the data that are not yet in the game. Will they come in Season 5?
What are exotic weapons? Exotic and mythical weapons deal far higher damage than regular weapons. In past seasons, there have been bosses that carried mythical weapons as loot.
Also in Season 5, you can obtain the new exotic weapons by defeating one of the new NPC characters. However, those who do not wish to engage in combat can purchase them with gold bars.
Dataminer finds 12 more weapons
What was found? Dataminer FortTory dug through the data of Fortnite and discovered 12 weapons that exist in the code but have not yet been added to the game.
Among them is a Western shotgun, which may have been seen in the Season 5 Battle Pass trailer. He shared his find, along with the image from the trailer on Twitter:
According to the dataminer, the shotgun should come in the rarities: rare (blue) and epic (purple). If it is indeed the shotgun from the trailer, it is likely that it will appear in Season 5.
More new weapons in the data: FortTory found additional weapons beside the Western shotgun, which have codenames. He also mentioned that the rarity is known for these, as he shared on Twitter:
The remaining 7 weapons he was able to find were labeled “exotic weapons”. Included are a rocket launcher, assault rifles, submachine guns, and a sniper (via Twitter). Here you can see again all 12 weapons that were found in the data:

Epic Games themselves announced that more exotic weapons would be expected during Season 5, but it is still unclear which ones they will be and when they will arrive.
Keep in mind that this is still a leak and does not mean that the weapons will actually appear. We will probably have to see if the weapons from the leak actually sneak into the game.
Until the next weapons appear in the game, players can still enjoy the new exotic weapons. These are not easy to obtain if you do not have enough gold bars.
