The Winterfest event has finally started in Fortnite . There are Christmas challenges, gifts, and a new reward system. We will show you what has changed in the game and what to expect.
What kind of event is this? Today, Wednesday, December 18, 2019, the Winterfest event started at 3:00 PM in Fortnite.
This event will be festive on the Fortnite island. Various rewards can be unlocked through challenges.
Winterfest brings a new gift system
Usually, for the Christmas event, the lobby background is changed, and we receive a festive scene playing in the background.
However, a brand new feature has been implemented. Instead of a background, we now have a dedicated area to select in the menu.
If you switch to the snowflake selection at the top, a snowy scene appears where you can see the Nutcracker Lodge in the background.
From there, you can enter the lodge to see the Winterfest gifts.
In the lodge, you will find some gifts scattered on the floor and a gift stocking hanging by the fireplace.
What do the gifts on the floor bring? You can visit the Christmas lodge daily and pick up a free reward there. Just select 1 gift on the floor and open it.
What does the Christmas stocking bring? You can also check the Christmas stocking every day. There, you can unlock a new challenge, which will then reward you once completed.
There are new Winterfest challenges
What are these challenges? There are new challenges that you can complete during the event. In total, there are 16 challenges that will likely have multiple phases.
By completing the challenges, you can earn 16 cool rewards such as: a skin, a pickaxe, and a back bling.
You can unlock a new challenge each day by searching the Christmas stocking in the gift lodge.
