In Fortnite the well-known electric trap from the first season comes back into the game with today’s update 10.20. However, it is supposed to appear in an improved version.
What is the Zapper trap? The Zapper is an electric trap that can presumably be placed on walls, floors, and ceilings. It is intended to give opponents a shock.
Fortnite has already announced the trap with the words: Danger: HIGH VOLTAGE. Shock them with a trap!
The trap is supposed to give the opponent a shock when they walk into it. However, they have not yet revealed how it works exactly.
Update 2:00 PM – The new patch is now active and introduces the Zapper trap
What do we already know about the new trap? The Zapper trap existed in Season 1, but it could only be placed on roofs and was very loud.
Now the trap is supposed to return improved. According to a leak from FortTory, the trap will be available in epic rarity, and the maximum stack size is 4. So, one could completely box in an opponent with traps, if desired. The amount of damage the trap actually causes is not known yet.
When will the trap come? The update is supposed to be released today, on September 3rd, at 2:00 PM. Then the trap should also be active in Fortnite.
“Hopefully not as loud again”
What do the players think about it? Since many players still remember the roof Zapper trap from Season 1, many wonder how this new trap will function. They are discussing this on Reddit and Twitter:
Many hope that it won’t be as loud as the first one, as it could be heard from a distance.
Others wonder if it will be a mix between the first shock trap and the poison arrow trap, meaning the shock will cause minor damage over several seconds.
Some players can hardly wait to try the trap, but are worried it could be too powerful.
