Chapter 2 Season 8 has been out for almost 2 weeks now, and players in Fortnite are already complaining about the rationed experience points. We at MeinMMO show you what the community has to say about the current XP situation and what should change the most.
What has changed? Fortnite reintroduced the so-called “stamplists” with Chapter 2 Season 8. These stamplists can now be selected and tracked in a separate quest tab. If you have completed all the stamplists of the selected NPCs, you are left empty-handed and cannot receive any further XP in this form.
So far, Epic Games has not renewed the stamplists, leaving many Fortnite players forced to either farm in the Battle Royale mode or enter Creative mode.
Intentional Slowing of XP – Players are Frustrated
On reddit, players are expressing their dissatisfaction. Many are fed up with Epic Games deliberately cutting the XP or imposing certain conditions.
Through the weekly reset, many players expected new stamplists, but they were only greeted with a single additional NPC-stamplist and a weekly punchcard. The punchcard only contained, just like last week, three tasks. One of them was a friendship task, which is not so easy to complete as a solo player.
This is not the only post of this kind. Many have arisen over the course of the week. The players in Fortnite are reminiscing about past seasons when there were XP coins or when they tracked a secret quest.
Such secret quests, like the “Dwarves vs Bears” quest, gave Fortnite a certain depth. Every week, players eagerly awaited what twist these mini-stories would take. Additionally, players received XP for every clue they pursued.
Have other XP sources been slowed down? The so-called “Imposter” mode was the new hub for XP. Many players hung out in this mode over the week, aiming to farm XP. But, of course, they also enjoyed tricking their friends for fun.
Unfortunately, Epic Games noticed this and quickly halved the XP gained after each completed match. This was proof to the community that Epic is trying to slow down players in this case.
The goal of every player is to reach level 200 in the Battle Pass to unlock additional skin styles. By intervening in the Imposter mode, Epic Games exacerbated the XP problem and ensured that players could not quickly reach the maximum level.
What do players demand? Many suggestions have been made on reddit. Among them are some proposals that may resonate with you:
- Still receive tasks with XP after the stamplists
- No friendship quests
- Fish at fishing spots
- Destroy as many stones as possible
- Blow up buildings
- Consume consumables
Has Epic commented on this? Epic Games mentioned on Twitter that they will positively change the XP system in Battle Royale, and that already in the next update. What we can expect remains to be seen, but the date of the next update is already set. This would be September 28, 2021. Perhaps we can expect several innovations regarding skins or even the map.
