Epic has released a roadmap for Fortnite. The updates for “Save the World” in August look pretty dull. Additionally, the PvE mode is currently struggling with a series of bugs.
Little going on in PvE: After many new features and changes came to “Save the World” in recent months, August now shows signs of stagnation. Epic has outlined the patches for the upcoming weeks in a roadmap (via reddit):
- A new “Machinist” hero will be available in the event store in the week of August 13.
- A new Loot Llama assault rifle will be available in the shop in the week of August 20.
- And a new mythic ninja hero will appear in the Fortnite shop in the week of August 27.
- Additionally, new weekly challenges for the Horde mode will come out each week. In week 4, a new Raider soldier will be the reward.
It doesn’t seem like new features or game content will be coming. The primary focus is on stocking the in-game shop. Players can purchase items with the in-game currency “Gold,” which can be earned by playing diligently.
Players complain about stuttering
Bugs are a problem: Moreover, Fortnite “Save the World” is currently suffering from serious issues. While Epic claims to have fixed the biggest crashes, there are still troubles at present.
Players are reporting significant performance drops since one of the recent patches. According to Epic, developers are currently working on resolving these issues.
When will Fortnite “Save the World” be free?
What is the development status? The PvE mode of Fortnite “Save the World” is officially in early access and requires payment. However, the game is expected to be released and become free in 2018.
However, with the current pace of development, it is unclear when that will happen.
When will the story continue? At least the story is only half-completed. By now, there is the first third of the area story in the third of four regions. However, Epic took a year for that. Many fans had hoped that the story would progress more quickly now. But apparently, nothing is happening in August.
Perhaps Fortnite will be released with an “unfinished” story after all. Fans constantly accuse Epic of prioritizing and better supporting the popular mode “Battle Royale” over the core mode “Save the World.”
They feel the development of “Save the World” is not progressing quickly enough.
Meanwhile, Fortnite Battle Royale received a new update on Thursday that adjusted the balance. The development of Fortnite: Battle Royale is only known week by week.
