Much has been said about gifts in Fortnite, and now there’s actually one: It has been announced what compensation gift players will receive for the issues at the end of last year.
What kind of gift is there? Via Twitter, the official Fortnite channel announced that players will receive a new harvesting tool, the “Crescent Shroom Pickaxe”, as a gift before it hits the shop. This applies to everyone who logged in during the Winterfest event.
The Winterfest started on December 16 at 3:00 PM and ends tomorrow, January 6, 2022, also at 3:00 PM. So if you haven’t logged in since the event started, you might want to do so to receive the harvesting tool.
You can pick up the gift probably this weekend because, in addition to the pickaxe, Fortnite is also unlocking a so-called “Power Leveling Weekend”. According to the official announcement (converted to local German time), this runs from January 8, 1:00 AM, to January 10, 1:00 PM.
What is a Power Leveling Weekend?
This is the event: Power Leveling Weekends have occurred in the past. They are primarily characterized by strong XP boosts that make it possible to reach numerous Battle Pass levels in a short amount of time. This way, you can unlock stars that you can spend on rewards in the Battle Pass.
If you are looking to get the super styles for the Spider-Man skin: It might be worth gathering a few friends this weekend to complete missions in Fortnite and collect a lot of XP.
Why is there a gift? On December 29 and 30, there were various server issues that temporarily caused the game to go offline. So players could not access the island temporarily to collect the bonuses of the current Winterfest.
Shortly after the issues, Epic announced that they wanted to compensate for the problems in some way in January. That’s why players are now receiving the harvesting tool and also getting an XP bonus this weekend.
