Fortnite received some new gimmicks with Season 2, including 5 mythical weapons. Two of these, the Minigun and Tommy Gun, are so powerful that the community is already crying out. Mixer streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins took out people so easily with the golden Tommy Gun that he apologized for it.
What are mythical weapons? The rarity level “mythical” is new in Fortnite: Battle Royale. These are golden weapons that are even stronger than the previously best weapons in the game.
There are 5 new mythical weapons in Fortnite: Battle Royale that you can find for sure in every round:
- a Scar assault rifle
- a Boom Bow – which was actually removed from Fortnite back in June 2019
- a Mini-Gun
- a heavy assault rifle
- and the Tommy Gun, which is considered the “most popular weapon” in Fortnite, players specifically voted to bring it back in May 2019
All these weapons are strong, but two of them are particularly nasty: the Tommy Gun and the Minigun.
Ninja demonstrates the power of the new weapons
This is how powerful the Mini-Gun is: Mixer streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins tested the Mini-Gun in a stream. He said the weapon was cool, but “like a laser.” The weapon is incredibly precise.
It has the accuracy bonus of the first shot the entire time, but over the whole burst.
Ninja also tried out the Tommy Gun. The weapon was so powerful that he apologized to the people he took out with it at the end.
With the weapon, Ninja tore through the opponents’ builds as if they were made of cardboard.
Weapons drop from boss NPCs in Fortnite
How do you get the mythical weapons? The 5 weapons can be obtained through PvE content in Fortnite: Battle Royale: You need to take out strong NPCs, but can then use the weapons against other players.
With Season 2 in Fortnite, 5 vaults were introduced, at 5 different locations that are new on the map. Players need key cards to open the vaults. To get the key cards, you need to take out special NPCs.
These NPCs will definitely drop a specific mythical weapon along with the key card.
This is how you can find the mythical weapons in Fortnite: Battle Royale
The 5 mythical weapons can be obtained from the following bosses:
- Brutus in the cave drops the Mini-Gun (At Retail Row, in the east of the map)
- Meowscles on the yacht drops the heavy assault rifle (Northeast)
- Midas in the agency drops the Tommy Gun (Center of the map)
- Skye at “Shark” drops the Scar assault rifle (Northwest), and the Grappler is included
- TNTina at The Rig drops the Boom Bow (Southwest)
What’s the catch? 4 of the spots are far from the center. Therefore, the risk is high of getting caught by the storm when you want to get the weapon at the beginning of a round. Additionally, the bosses have some tricks up their sleeves to sell their skin (or in Meowscles’ case, his fur) dearly.
Furthermore, you compete with other players for the weapon and can easily get taken out.
