Fortnite held a short live event for the upcoming end of Season 2, and its aftermath is expected to throw the map into chaos. Did you miss the event? That’s because Epic Games did not announce it. We will show you what happened.
What kind of live event was it? In fact, it was a rather small live event. The statue of Olympus charged electrically over several days to then discharge with immense force. The target was the Box of Pandora. Those who know a little about Greek mythology know that the Box of Pandora holds sorrow and plagues – it was opened by the powers of the statue.
Although the live event could have a significant impact on the upcoming map, it was not announced. It took place in the background, and only a few players were able to witness it. We will show you what happened.
The Box of Pandora has been opened
What happened at the live event? The divine statue of Olympus charged up around 8 PM German time to reach its maximum energy capacity. Once the limits were reached, the statue raised its stone sword into the air and shot a powerful bolt of lightning into the sky, which then struck the Box of Pandora.
Shiina, a well-known leaker of Fortnite, has recorded the small live event for you:
When the box could no longer withstand the energy, the container opened and the players were propelled into the air. A mighty energy then shot out of the box and bounced off various places until it found its way into the sea.
This evil energy struck at the edge of the horizon with a lightning bolt and then developed into a large cloud of smoke with crackling red energy. When the spectacle was over, the players could again participate in the Battle Royale and compete against each other.
Is the live event over? Yes and no. The live event surrounding the statue will not take place again like this. This was an event that only happened once at 8 PM German time on May 16. However, the issue surrounding the chaos cloud has not yet been resolved. This cloud is moving closer to the Fortnite map and will likely engulf the entire map on May 24, ushering in Season 3.
So far, it remains unclear what effect this cloud will have on the map, but one thing is certain: The map will soon be thrown into chaos.
