In Fortnite: Battle Royale a powerful new weapon has arrived. The “Kingsman” umbrella seems inconspicuous but is extremely dangerous. We will show you how to use the weapon correctly to achieve a Victory Royale.
This is the “Kingsman”: The Kingsman is an umbrella – but not an ordinary one. Just like in the movie series, the umbrella has some serious capabilities.
The Kingsman umbrella is the latest item in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It was introduced with update 12.30 on March 31.
The umbrella in Kingsman was the preferred weapon of agent Harry “Galahad” Hart. He took out several villains spectacularly with the inconspicuous device. And in Fortnite, your enemies should not underestimate you when you have the umbrella in your hand.
The Kingsman umbrella brings victories – like a lightsaber
How to use the Kingsman: First, you need a bit of luck to find the Kingsman. You can find it in chests or just come across one. For example, you can often find one of the umbrellas in the agent’s grotto. And it has some tricks up its sleeve:
The umbrella is a melee weapon that plays similarly to the extremely powerful lightsabers. In close combat, you can bash your opponents with basic R2 hits (left mouse button). Each hit deals slightly more damage than the previous one. The umbrella also works as a harvesting tool – when you need resources or want to bring down enemy buildings. But that’s not all.
Block, Fly, Jump: Just like the lightsabers, the umbrella has a blocking function when you press L2 (right mouse button). It is deployed directly in front of you and can protect you from enemy bullets. If you now press R2 at the same time, a particularly strong charge attack with the umbrella is launched. So you can block while preparing a powerful attack.
You can also jump and roll like crazy if you combine L2 with pressing the jump button. This makes you extremely hard to hit.
As an additional bonus, the umbrella can protect you from fall damage. If you are falling, quickly press L2. It will deploy and allow you to float for a moment. However, you must not press too early – as the umbrella stays deployed only for a few seconds before it collapses and lets you fall.
Engage in close combat with the umbrella
How to fight with the umbrella: With the umbrella, you want to engage in close combat, it is useless at a distance. Try to get as close to your opponents as quickly as possible – using the blocking function and the charge attack!
The umbrella also pairs well with the new Crash Pads. They can launch you very quickly into the air and forward – perfect for bridging distance and surprising the enemy. Once you are in direct confrontation with the opponent, use rolls and the block to prevent damage. When opponents are reloading, you can strike.
Here you need to be careful: The umbrella only protects you from damage coming from the front. If you play in Duos or Teams, an opponent can quickly catch you from behind. The umbrella is powerless in that situation. Additionally, charging the charge attack takes a little time – here as well, you are vulnerable from the sides and from the front.
How effective is the umbrella? There are already many videos in the community showing players winning round after round with the umbrella. No wonder:
- The umbrella not only protects but also deals considerable damage.
- The first two hits deal 50 and 60 damage. Then come two hits with 55 damage each, and the fifth and final hit delivers 100 damage. That is enough for any opponent.
- The charge attack deals 75 damage to players and 1000 to buildings.

The Kingsman is not the only film reference currently in Fortnite. Deadpool is also new and has taken over part of the map.
