In Fortnite, a weapon that led to unfair kills has been secretly nerfed. We will show you what this item is and why it needed a nerf.
What is this item? This is an explosive item that can be used as a weapon. The C4 can be carried in the inventory.
It can be thrown and sticks to floors, walls, and objects. The player can then trigger it with a button press to make it explode.
This is unfair!
C4 can lead to unfair kills and they are the perfect weapon to troll opponents.
Whether you set a trap for players while watching from a safe distance or knock your opponent off the high building they are on.
Here are a few examples of why Epic had to nerf the C4:
The player BrightBullet hides under a “roof” and waits for his opponents to open the Shark Vault. He has placed a lot of C4 inside.
Once everyone is in, he presses the button and eliminates 2 opponents in seconds:
Vaults were introduced with Season 2. However, to open them, you need keycards, which require defeating mini-bosses.
Another example of an unfair kill is demonstrated by the player YT_Devilgamer72, who set a nasty trap for his opponent. He placed some C4 at a port-a-potty and laid a powerful weapon in front of it.
Then he hid and waited. An opponent came by to grab the cool weapon, but walked right into the trap and was eliminated:
Epic secretly nerfs C4
What is different now? After a hotfix patch, the C4 seems to be nerfed. However, this happened secretly and was not communicated by Epic.
The data miner HYPEX was able to filter out what has changed from the data:
The spawn rate has been reduced by 50% at supply drops, chests, and ground loot. This means you will only find the C4 half as often on the new Fortnite map of Season 2.
Additionally, you will no longer find them in stacks of 3, but only individually.
Although the C4 is still equally strong, you will find much less of it. And since you now only find them individually, players may think twice about whether they want to give up an inventory slot for it.
- Players demanded a nerf for this weapon or that it should disappear.
