In Fortnite: Battle Royale you need to find broomsticks and travel 100 meters with them. This is part of the Nightmares challenges for the Halloween event. We will show you where to find the brooms and how to use them.
What is this task? The Update 14.40 was rolled out today, Wednesday, October 21st. This also marked the start of Fortnite Nightmares, which brought some new challenges.
In one task, you need to travel 100 meters with a broomstick. We will show you where you can find these on the map.
Locations on the map:
Finding broomsticks – Locations
Where are the brooms located? You will find the broomsticks in places that are not named on the map. After Update 14.40, there are now small witch huts, and this is where the broomsticks are located. Some have already been found here:
- Southwest of Sweaty Sands, at the edge of the map (Grid A4)
- Northwest of Salty Springs (Grid C4)
- North of Doom’s Domain (Grid D2)
- Southeast of Catty Corner, at the edge of the map (Grid H7)
- South of Slurpy Swamp, in the swamps (Grid C7)
- In the middle of The Authority and Lazy Lake (Grid F5)
- Southwest of Steamy Stacks, at the edge of the map (Grid H2)
Once you find such a hut, you need to look for wooden barrels. Similar to the fishing rods, which were introduced in Chapter 2, the brooms are stored in the barrels. You can then simply take them out of the barrel. If you prefer to watch the exact locations in a video, you can do so here:
Riding broomsticks – Here’s how it works
How can the broom be used? The broomstick is an item that you can carry in your inventory. So pick it up and select it in your inventory. Once you have equipped the broom, press the button that you usually use for shooting or using items.
After that, you will be lifted into the air and can simply move forward to let the broom fly. For this task, you need to do that for 100 meters.
If you have achieved this, the task will be counted as completed and you will receive 40,000 experience points. You can complete the Nightmares tasks until November 3rd, as the Halloween event will end then.
PC players can be pleased, as the update not only brought new spooky content for them, but also a reduction of Fortnite by a whole 60 GB on PC. Despite more storage space, it seems some are still afraid.
