The patch notes 5.0 for Battle Royale!
Here you’ll find out what changes with season 5 in Fortnite’s PvP mode. We have summarized the most important patch notes.
Map Changes and Dimensional Rifts
- Terrain Kart: In addition to shopping carts, there is now a type of beach buggy for your entire 4-person squad. The roof serves as a trampoline. Additionally, passengers can make the vehicle jump higher. When you exit, you are temporarily faster.
- Dimensional Rifts: Dimensional rifts have appeared all over the world. What they do is not yet described in detail.
- Map Update: There is a new desert biome. Additionally, new locations Paradise Palms and Lazy Links, as well as other unnamed “Points of Interest,” have been added to the game.
- The storm circles number 7, 8, and 9 are no longer fixed. They move AND get smaller.
- Progressive challenges are now no longer limited to a season. They run over a fixed number of experience points, not the season level. Therefore, you can also complete them later, even if the originating season is already over.
- Weekly challenges are now divided: 3 are free, for the remaining 4 you need a battle pass.
- There is XP for reviving team mates.
- In streamer mode, you can now display your cosmetic name.
- If you win a game, you now receive a lot of fanfare and other effects to celebrate the victory.
- Mobile versions now have optional autofire. This means you shoot automatically when you have an enemy in your sights.
The changes to Fortnite weapons
- Shotguns now indicate in the crosshair how many pellets will hit
- Shotgun spread patterns are now less random
- The heavy shotgun fires 10 and no longer 5 pellets, but has the same maximum damage
- After firing a shotgun, you cannot shoot again with another shotgun for a short time. This should finally put an end to the double shotgun tricks.
- The hunting rifle now has less aim assist.
- The suppressed SMG now has the same damage drop-off as other SMGs.
Additionally, there were a number of smaller bug fixes and adjustments.
