Fortnite: Battle Royale brings a lot of crazy new features with Update 17.00 and the start of Season 7 – Chapter 2. The aliens and their technologies are sure to shake up the gameplay.

What’s new in Season 7? Update 17.00 launches Season 7 – Chapter 2 in Fortnite and this time the title is “Invasion”. As previously known, this time it’s about aliens invading the island. This brings the following new features to the game:

• The theme is the fight against the aliens, led by the imagined order (IO) and Dr. Slone. Additional NPCs will either assist the aliens, be neutral, or fight against the extraterrestrials.
• Aliens fly around the island in UFOs. You can shoot them down or hijack them. Then you can shoot with them or use tractor beams to fling things and vehicles around.
• There are a lot of new high-tech weapons. These include a railgun that shoots through walls and a useful pulse rifle. Additionally, there is an alien blaster and a scanner. More weapons will be added throughout the season.
• Weapon crafting is back, and with screws and nuts, you can modify weapons, for example, upgrading an assault rifle to a burst rifle.
• In the Battle Pass there is a new alien skin named Kymera. This is basically a character editor that allows you to create your own alien from numerous options. There are various heads, eye colors, and much more that you can freely combine.

When can the new features be played? The downtime for Update 17 has already ended, and the new season is online. You can dive back into the game and try out the new Battle Pass.
