In Fortnite: Battle Royale Update 12.00 has been released, which marks the beginning of Season 2. We show you the patch notes. There are plenty of new features!
What’s in the new Update 12.00: Update 12.00 kicks off the new Season 2 and brings several changes. The trailer for Season 2 shows a secret agent mission.
The patch notes for the Battle Royale mode have not yet been released by Epic Games. However, we have summarized the biggest changes for you here.
There are already some new features for the Creative mode and the “Save the World” mode.
New Season Theme – Top Secret
In Season 2, everything revolves around secret missions and agents. Players can unlock Battle Pass skins in an agent style and participate in special missions later.
These missions are said to determine the future of the map forever. Players must choose which side they want to fight on.
Change of the Battle Pass Menu
When you go into the Battle Pass menu now, it looks completely different than in previous seasons. You are taken to the “Headquarters” of the agents.
The Battle Pass skins can already be seen there. Additionally, you can interact with various items. In this menu, you will now find:
- The Battle Pass
- Daily Tasks
- The Challenge Table
- The Agents
- The Upgrade Vault
- A secret room
Map Changes
With the start of Season 2 in Fortnite, the map has also changed. There are now 4 new locations that you can visit and loot.

Shakedowns on Opponents
In Season 2, there is now a new way to find the location of your opponents. You must now pick up an opponent who is down and interrogate them.
They will then reveal their location to you. Red arrows will appear above the heads of the opponents, making them easier to locate.
Weapons and Items
What has changed with the weapons? There are a few weapons that have been taken out of the vault. Others, however, have been put into the vault.
It is not officially known which weapons and items are in the game. The Dexerto page has created a provisional list.
According to Dexerto, these weapons and items should now be available again:
- Suppressed Pistol
- Suppressed Scar
- Suppressed Sniper
- Drum Gun
- C4 Grenades
- Heavy Sniper Rifle
- Boom Bow
- Grappler
These weapons and items have been removed:
- Traps
- The Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle
- A few rarities of Rocket Launchers and Submachine Guns
What changes with the items? Healing and shield items can now be thrown. It should work similarly to the Bandage Bazooka. This allows you to support your teammates even better!
Changes in Creative Mode
New Galleries and Items: Build your own yacht club and make your island more luxurious! The “The Yacht” and “The Shark” galleries are now available in Creative mode.

What’s New in Save the World
New Questline “Dancing Prohibited”: Major Oswald will not allow the home base to succumb to the dreaded love storm. Fight against the greatest enemy of the home base to unlock Stoneheart Farrah.
Hero Stoneheart Farrah: Special ability of the hero: Upon hitting with the bow, arrows splinter and deal 20 % damage to 3 nearby opponents.
New Hero Coming Soon: The hero “Reckless Hawk” will be available in the event shop from Saturday, February 22, 1:00 AM to Wednesday, April 4, 1:00 AM.
Weapon Coming Soon to Event Shop: Leave nothing but smitten shells behind with this bow! It shoots an arrow that stuns the target for 10 seconds.
The Love Song Bow will be available in the event shop from Thursday, February 22, 1:00 AM to Wednesday, April 4, 1:00 AM.
