In Fortnite Season 3, there are now new firefly grenades, which you cannot find in chests or on the ground like before. We will show you how to craft these grenades and how to use them.
What kind of grenades are these? The firefly jars behave similarly to grenades since you can throw them at your opponents. As the name suggests, they contain fireflies in a jar.
When thrown, the fireflies fly out of the jar and ignite a fire that damages players. The surroundings and buildings are also affected.
How to get the grenade?
Those searching for firefly jars in chests, supply drops, and on the ground will be disappointed. Unlike previous loot items, you first have to craft this grenade yourself.
How do I craft a firefly jar? Each player starts a match equipped with a jar container. However, it will only use inventory space once it contains fireflies.
On the Fortnite map, which has drastically changed because of the huge storm, you will now find these insects. To catch them, simply look in their direction and interact with them – they will then land in the container.
In total, you can carry 3 filled jars in one inventory slot.
Where do you find the fireflies? There is no specific place where these insects gather. Keep an eye out for them during a match and grab them as soon as they appear.
How to use the firefly jars?
The new grenades behave in usage exactly like the previous grenades. You can throw them. However, there are a few things to keep in mind:
- They do not explode, but ignite a fire in the surroundings
- They deal continuous damage to players as long as they are in the fire
- Floors, trees, and buildings are also affected
- They can also damage you
So, when using the grenade, always be careful to hit the players themselves or preferably their wooden buildings. This way, they cannot dodge when the fire intensifies around them.
Always be sure to keep your distance when using the grenade. Otherwise, you will take damage yourself, which will put you at a disadvantage.
In a build battle, the firefly grenade is not suitable. If the built parts catch fire, the entire building will collapse, and you will fall to your death along with your enemy.
