Since the last content update 4.2, players can find the Jetpack in Fortnite: Battle Royale – a backpack item that can take players to great heights. However, the Jetpack has its quirks. With our guide, you’ll always be on top.
What hasn’t Epic done to take Fortnite: Battle Royale to new heights? The building mode, pocket fortresses, and impulse grenades are just some of the ways to get into the air and outsmart opponents waiting for them on the ground.
The Jetpack introduced a new item that, while it occupies a valuable slot in your inventory, is extremely useful when used correctly. After a few rounds with the rocket backpack, I’m inclined to say: It’s a pity that the backpack is only available for a limited time!

How do I find the Jetpack? The Jetpack is of legendary rarity (orange) and therefore rare to find. Even in the currently ongoing “Pure Gold 2.0” mode, I could only rarely find the Jetpack – although all found items are of legendary quality.
In the normal modes, you will have to play a few rounds before you get the chance to try out the toy. But hang in there: It’s worth it!
How does the Jetpack work? Once you find the Jetpack, you need to pick it up like any item. Unfortunately, the backpack occupies a valuable space in your inventory. However, this disadvantage is outweighed by significantly better mobility in the vertical. Once you jump, you can gain altitude by holding the jump button.
But beware: The Jetpack can overheat and stop working. The consequence: you fall to your death. Really. The internet is overflowing with videos of players pushing their Jetpack beyond its limits. Care for a sample?
That it can be done differently is once again proven by the streamer Ninja, who performs impressive actions with the Jetpack:
What else is the Jetpack good for? Mainly to surprise opponents who have entrenched themselves in fortifications. Just land in the base with a Jetpack and clean up.
In fact, the backpack is also good for saving resources. Because every free fall can be cushioned with the Jetpack so that you take no damage. This is extremely useful for players who favor the “Stairway to heaven” tactic. With this tactic, gigantic stairs are built into the sky to take opponents out from the air. Those with a Jetpack no longer need to fear the inevitable fall into death if the ground is blasted away from under their feet.
