Do you want to gift the Battle Pass in Fortnite for Season 2? There are currently some issues. What do the developers say?
Update from February 21 at 8:45 AM: Overnight, Epic Games has resolved the issue. Players should now be able to gift the Battle Pass as usual.
If you are playing on PC, you might need to restart the game for it to work.
However, there is one exception. Players on Android and iOS cannot use the gifting feature of the Battle Pass.
This is the situation: On February 20, 2020, the new Season 2 of Chapter 2 started in Fortnite. As with every new season, you can expect a new Battle Pass. By purchasing it, you unlock special items and receive additional cosmetic rewards and V-Bucks as you level up.
This is the problem: Some players want to gift a Battle Pass today. A social action when you want to do something nice for your friends and surprise them or help them because they don’t have enough V-Bucks in their account to buy the pass themselves.
But as has now been determined, the feature does not work for some players. You can click around on the button all you want. Nothing happens in the game.
As can be seen from Google Trends, interest in this gifting action is currently particularly high. In comparison, you can see the search interest of the last 7 days for the search term “Fortnite Battle Pass gift”. Presumably, it is trending like this because it is not working.
What does Epic Games say? The developers of Fortnite have now noticed, after the release of Patch 12.00 for Season 2, that there are issues in this area.
On Twitter, they state through their support channel “Fortnite Status” that they are aware of the problems with gifting.
We are aware of the issues preventing some players from gifting the Battle Pass. We will inform you as soon as the issues are resolved.
They also link to the issue card on their Trello board. The gifting issue is marked as “Important” there. Additionally, they are already working on a solution.
