What kind of item is it? Players can now unlock a cool weapon skin for free. This can then be used to decorate various weapons in the game.
The name of the weapon skin is “Rainbow Mist” and it lives up to its appearance. The weapon skin consists of stripes in various bright colors of the rainbow. It is particularly suitable if you want to add a bit of color to your favorite weapon in Fortnite.

How to unlock the weapon skin
What do you need to do? There are 2 different ways to unlock the reward. The methods vary between platforms. Here’s what you need to do:
- For PC, PS4, and PS5: Link your Houseparty account with your Epic account (you’ll also need an iOS or Android device with the Houseparty app installed)
- For all other platforms: Play 5 rounds with friends between November 20 at 6:00 AM and November 27 at 5:59 AM
For the first option, you need to download the Houseparty app on your iOS or Android device. The app is free, but you will need to create an account.
You can then choose whether to add friends or connect more social networks. Link your account with Fortnite there. This is how it should look:
Once you have linked both accounts, you will receive the free weapon skin. However, keep in mind that it may take some time for the item to appear in the game.
Why are you getting this now?
Fortnite had a collaboration with the Houseparty app some time ago. Back then, players had to solve a Fortnite quiz in the app to unlock a weapon skin.
Now there is another feature with the app that players can use in Fortnite. You can now literally see your friends in Fortnite when you are connected to them in the Houseparty app. So you can not only talk to each other but also visually see each other’s reactions.
