Fortnite is actually a pure coop game where up to 4 players build forts together and kill zombies. However, a PvP mode in battle royale style is soon to come, which strikingly resembles the mega-hit PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
Fortnite is soon getting a new game mode despite its early access status. However, this is not a new coop mode where the nice Fortnite players help each other by sharing resources and building big forts for protection against zombies. Rather, the new game mode “Battle Royale” is exactly about that: epic mass slaughter among friends a la PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
Fortnite – PvP Slaughter instead of PvE Coop
So if Fortnite has been your favorite PvE game and PUBG your favorite PvP game until now, then soon Fortnite might take both places in your heart. Because the new battle royale mode looks extremely similar to PUBG.
You will be dropped like in the big role model with a parachute over an island (albeit from a flying bus) and have to fight for survival against 99 other players.
At the beginning, you only have a pickaxe and everything else you need to find and build. Unlike PUBG, you can still craft all sorts of things from resources in Fortnite, allowing you to create insurmountable forts and deadly traps. However, since the play area will likely shrink in Fortnite Battle Royale as well, you shouldn’t fortify too strongly.

If you’re thinking, “Oh no, I have to wait forever for this!” you can be happy! The new battle royale mode for Fortnite is coming on September 26! But it gets even better! You can already play the test version!
Although chief developer Donald Mustard warns that the servers will probably not be very stable and there will still be plenty of bugs. But it should still be a lot of fun. Furthermore, all players should behave and not insult each other or exploit bugs.
Additionally, the PvP mode is supposed to be strictly separated from the PvE main game.
