An inconspicuous tweet is currently sparking lively discussions in the Fortnite community. Starring: A necklace with a symbol reminiscent of the logo of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. What’s going on?
That Fortnite: Battle Royale has now created a huge pull effect should have reached other industries by now. Footballers celebrating in Fortnite poses or even the current mashup with Marvel’s Avengers proves this.
The media and societal attention on Fortnite is gigantic. It is therefore likely that other market participants also want to jump on this bandwagon. A picture published on Twitter is now fueling rumors that a crossover between Fortnite and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 might be in the works.
Harmless image with hidden message?
Epic released an image that was supposed to promote the new Chromium skin along with the associated pickaxe. At least at first glance. Upon closer inspection, the lady in the foreground wears a necklace with an emblem that at least bears similarities to the logo of CoD: Black Ops 4:

Even if the logo is not completely identical – it certainly encourages speculation.
How realistic is such a crossover? The rumors that Activision will equip the new shooter CoD: Black Ops 4 with a battle royale mode are persistent. It is therefore unlikely that in this case two competitors would agree to a collaboration.
Moreover, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be released on October 12, 2018 – a promotional action at that time seems illogical. Usually, such actions are only intensified shortly before the release of a title.

Is the logo just a coincidence? This is not known. However, it could also be a hint from Epic to Activision, following the motto “We have you in our sights.” Who knows – maybe Epic will eventually comment on this. Until then, feel free to keep speculating.
What do you think? Is there any truth to the rumor?
