This is what the new mode is about: The Christmas event 14 Days of Fortnite from update 7.10 introduced the first game mode “Classic”. In this mode, there are only weapons and items from the first two seasons of Fortnite. This is the time before the game became a massive hit, as that really took off with Season 3.
The contents of Fortnite Classic
These features are included in the Classic game mode: First of all, the mode brings back all weapons and items from Season 1 and 2, and only those. So you cannot use vehicles; there are no planes. Turrets are also not included, and those who like the heavy assault rifle or the submachine gun will search in vain for them.
Instead, there are ancient weapons like the tactical submachine gun. It has long been out of the game, but here it is back in. Also, the semi-automatic sniper rifle or the old revolver.
By the way, you always play in Squads mode here; there are no other modes.
What is not included in the Classic mode: If you were looking forward to the old map, then unfortunately you are out of luck in the Classic mode. Because the map is still the same as in Season 7. And Epic has not reversed gameplay changes either.
The Double-Shotgun is also something you will search for in vain. Therefore, the Classic mode is not completely a time travel to the beginnings of Fortnite.
Who is the Classic mode ideal for? Nevertheless, the new mode is likely to find some fans. Because anyone who wants to play a few cozy rounds of Battle Royale without vehicles and especially without planes will surely have a lot of fun here.
How long does the new mode last? Unfortunately, the Classic mode is likely to remain in the game only until the afternoon of December 20th. Starting at 3 PM, the new mode should already make way for another. However, Epic may bring back the Classic mode during the 14 Days of Fortnite, possibly even with the old map!
