In Fortnite, there has been a reflective event with a relaxed atmosphere, festive decorations, and plenty of free gifts during Christmas. Season: OG is coming to an end and with Christmas approaching, there is much to suggest a forthcoming Winterfest event 2023.
What is the Winterfest in Fortnite? Epic Games has come up with something for the winter so that players still have enough incentives to play even during the developers’ Christmas break. For this reason, the “14 Days of Fortnite” event was created. It is a Winter event where players can earn free cosmetic items and XP over 14 days.
The event has been largely expanded so that players can even shake 14 gifts in a wooden cabin and decide which gift they want to open first. The gifts usually come with well-known weapons from the vault, as well as temporary modes.
As Season: OG ends before the reflective time, many players have wondered if there will be another winter event this year. Although the live event around Eminem is still pending, there is still much to suggest a Winter event 2023.
Leaks suggest 14 Days of Fortnite
What do the leaks look like? According to Twitter user KiriBuilds, there are new garlands and a pine tree that have been implemented since Season: OG. These are new components that have been redesigned by the developers.
For winter, Fortnite not only treats players to gifts but also to decorated trees, bushes, and garlands that adorn houses and streets. It is therefore possible that Fortnite is already pulling the fairy lights from the attic to have them ready for the release of Chapter 5.
Additionally, with update 27.00, a line was found in the data where the word “shake” is associated with a “Winter Quest”. The “shaking” is very likely related to the gifts that players are allowed to open for the Christmas event.
Last but not least, the release timeframe speaks for the winter event. According to the data, Chapter 5 is set to start on Sunday, December 3. In the past, the event has started during the week between December 11 and 17. So Fortnite still has a week to release a patch that activates the event and brings back the wooden cabin of the big boss.
However, keep in mind that these are just leaks and speculations. It might also be that Epic Games skips the event and instead just decorates the new map of Chapter 5.
