The end of Season 4 – Chapter 2 in Fortnite is approaching. The live event should also take place soon. Dataminers have now found the first leaks about the event. Is the dreaded black hole returning?
What’s going on in Fortnite? Season 4 – Chapter 2 is slowly coming to an end. The season is expected to conclude on November 30, unless it is extended.
Players are now waiting for the live event that will conclude Season 4. So far, it was only known that the villain Galactus is on his way to bring chaos to the island. In the Nexus War, Fortnite characters are expected to fight alongside Marvel heroes.
Dataminers find first leaks about the live event
What was found? During the downtime of Fortnite, which implemented update 14.60, dataminers searched for information in the game’s data. Although there were no major changes in the game itself, they discovered a few hints regarding the live event.
A sound file was found that, according to the leakers, is related to the live event. However, it is still unclear whether it is intended for the countdown or the event itself:
Additionally, the dataminers also found the name and description of the special game mode that will be active during the event. The mode is expected to be called: “The Devourer of Worlds” and the description states: “Defend the island to save all of reality” (via Twitter).
Will we see the dreaded black hole again?
What is the black hole? At the end of Season 10 and also at the end of Chapter 1, players experienced a live event where a rocket was launched. But everything quickly went out of balance when a meteorite appeared, hit the “Zero Point”, and suddenly swallowed the entire map.
This resulted in a black hole, which players could only stare at. Fortnite was then down for a full 2 days, without knowing how the game would proceed.
Why could this happen again? Another hint appeared after the update, but at first glance, it only concerns Fortnite’s PvE mode. However, looking more closely, it points to a possible return of the black hole.
Dataminers discovered that a voice sequence from the robot Ray from Save the World was reactivated: “Attention! Attention! We are detecting strange anomalies on the Battle Royale island. We should better hide before it all spills over.” (via Twitter)
According to the dataminer Firemonkey, this could be an indication that the PvE mode will be down during the event. This exact situation has happened before, precisely when the black hole appeared.
We will see how the live event continues and what awaits us. Perhaps more clues will emerge soon, along with an announcement from Epic regarding when the event will take place. Until then, players can still unlock their Battle Pass for Season 4 or collect cool skin variants for the Marvel heroes.
