In Fortnite players have demanded a nerf for a skin that provided unfair advantages. Now Epic is responding and will soon bring a solution so that the skin is no longer “Pay2Win”.
What kind of skin is this? The skin, or rather the skins in question, are the superhero skins. These can be customized at will, which can lead to cool combos. However, this also brought problems.
Where is the problem? Since the superhero skins can be color-customized, there are certain combinations that can lead to an unfair advantage. Specifically, a completely black or white skin. If players choose only one of these colors for the entire skin, they can blend into certain environments.
This advantage led to some discussions in the community, and players expressed a wish for a nerf to address the problem. Epic is now responding and will soon provide a solution.
Epic is bringing 2 solutions
What does Epic say about it? The dataminer iFireMonkey posted a statement from Epic on the subject on Twitter. They say they have become aware of the unfair advantages and want to implement these changes:
- It will no longer be possible to select white/white and black/black combinations when choosing the primary and secondary colors for the skin.
- The lighting indoors is to be adjusted so that such blending in the shadows will no longer occur.
Additionally, players who are no longer satisfied with the superhero skins after these changes will be able to use a refund. This way, you can return the skin without wasting a ticket and get your V-Bucks back.
This is not the first time Epic has allowed free refunds for a skin after changes have been made to it.
When will the changes take effect? The changes to the skins, the interiors, and the refund option should all be available after the next update 15.30. When the update will be conducted is still unknown.
The update 15.30 will not only bring some changes to the superheroes but could also bring some adjustments to vehicles. A leak suggests that we might soon be able to equip cars with weapons and that they will be fundamentally changed. So it will be exciting to see what the next update will bring.
