In Fortnite there has not been a proper tutorial since its release that actually introduced players to the depths of the Battle Royale. Now, after about 5 years, it has finally arrived. But how good is it really? We took a look at it.
What kind of tutorial is this? Until now, there has not been a real tutorial in Fortnite that explained building, movement options, and weapon handling to players. Players were thrown onto the map without any prior knowledge unless they had already learned building in the PvE mode “Save the World”.
In Season 10 Chapter 1, Epic Games therefore introduced a practice range to help players improve their aiming skills. The “Combine” mode was born, but it was quickly discarded after Season 10.
Now, after about 5 years, Epic Games has created a new mode for players to finally learn the basics of the colorful Battle Royale and thus understand it better.
5 years and finally a tutorial for beginners
Is this really a tutorial? The Combine mode from Season 10 Chapter 1 only allowed players to improve their accuracy and left them with a shooting range. However, more important core components of the game were not explained. However, the new tutorial can be watched and lives up to its name.
Players learn how to build, heal themselves, use weapons, and move. So if you are new to the colorful Battle Royale and are overwhelmed by the mechanics, we recommend the tutorial to you. It shows you the most important things you should know before your first match.
Where can you select the mode? Go to the Fortnite main screen. Once there, open your mode selection. A window with many tabs and corresponding modes will appear.
Now go to the tab “By Epic” and search for the mode “Tutorial”. You just need to click on it and the tutorial will start.
On which platforms can you play the tutorial? While PC and mobile players can access the tutorial, console players are out of luck. We haven’t found the tutorial mode on our PS5 yet. However, we assume that Epic Games will make the mode available on all platforms in the coming weeks.
