In Fortnite: Battle Royale there is now actually a crossover with the Netflix series Stranger Things. The skins for this are well received, but fans wish for something else.
What does the crossover with Stranger Things look like? After a crossover with the Netflix series Stranger Things was already teased during the E3 2019 and later strange portals appeared in the game, there was indeed a crossover in Fortnite timed with the launch of Season 3.
From now on, you can buy two special skins from Stranger Things in the shop:
- The grizzled police chief Chief Hopper, available with or without hat for 1,500 Bucks (15 Euros)
- The gruesome Demogorgon, the terrifying monster that haunts the small town of Hawkins in Season 1 of Stranger Things. This costs only 1,200 Bucks (12 Euros).
- A creepy weapon skin that is entwined with the disgusting vines from the Upside Down. Costs 500 V-Bucks (5 Euros).
Fans love Demogorgon skins from Stranger Things, but want LTM as well
This is how the skins are received: While the skin of Chief Hopper convinces only a few players on Reddit – after all, he is just a guy with a beard and uniform for 15 Euros – the Demogorgon is really well received.
Players especially praise that the creature looks really creepy and stands out so starkly from the otherwise colorful and fun Fortnite outfits.
In addition, the beast opens its gruesome, toothy maw when it performs emotes. This leads to both creepy and hilarious actions. For example, when the creature plays guitar, eats popcorn, or joyfully fries hamburgers.

That the coolest skin of the crossover is also comparatively cheap at 1,200 Bucks (many had suspected it would be legendary and thus cost 20 Euros) makes the fans even happier and many buy the creature.
What bothers fans about the crossover? As much as players want the Demogorgon, they miss the crucial cherry on top of such a crossover: A dedicated game mode (LTM). Because so far, it has been customary to offer a limited-time game mode with crossovers with movies.
That has been the case with the Avengers and John Wick every time and has always been well received by players. Therefore, many fans also want a mode for Stranger Things where they possibly have to hunt an overpowering Demogorgon or smaller versions of the creature, as known from Season 2, fall upon the map and must be defeated.
Will the LTM come? However, the Stranger Things game mode could definitely still come. Because why else did Epic patch the creepy portals into the game? Therefore, the community hopes that Epic will soon add a new mode, possibly this coming weekend.
