In Fortnite (PC, PS4, iOS, Switch & Xbox One) a rescue operation recently failed spectacularly. Therefore, the developers erected a monument at the relevant location. Epic is so close to the fans that they maintain such insider jokes.
What is the rescue operation about? At the launch of Season 5 in Fortnite there was a pretty crazy rescue operation. The player Chappadoodle fell down a steep slope at the southern edge of the map. He survived the fall but could not climb back up the cliff. Then Muselk, a well-known streamer, made his appearance. He could have simply shot Chappadoodle but preferred to rescue him.
Streamer wants to help: He worked hard to build ramps and stairs down. But just before the end, he couldn’t proceed, probably due to the unfavorable terrain. For Chappadoodle, rescue was within reach. Therefore, Muselk fetched a golf cart and wanted to push him down. The roofs of the carts are trampolines. With that, Chappadoodle would have made the saving jump.
A failed rescue: But unfortunately, Muselk only made things worse. The cart went out of control, crashed down the slope, smashed into poor Chappadoodle and completely hurled him off the map, leading to his demise! That might have been the most spectacular kill Muselk has ever made – especially since it was an accident!
Epic immortalizes Chappadoodle
The developers at Epic are always in touch with the community and respond to popular trends. Therefore, they have now marked the spot where Chappadoodle met his unexpected end with a memorial.

Memorial and jumping aid: Anyone who now reaches the site will see a tombstone as a memorial for poor Chappadoodle. And to ensure that his tragic fate is not repeated, a stack of tires has been placed next to the tombstone. The tires serve as a springboard. This way, one can free oneself if stuck on the cliff and has at least some building materials.
The death of Chappadoodle was not in vain! He changed the Fortnite map forever.
