The update 15.10 in Fortnite is here and brings map changes, the Fortnite performance mode, and 120 FPS for consoles. MeinMMO shows you what’s changed in the game.
This is what’s happening in Fortnite: Today, on December 15, the update 15.10 is being rolled out. This also brings the Fortnite Winterfest 2020 closer. We have gathered the main changes for you in the form of German patch notes.
Winterfest 2020 in Fortnite
What is known about it? In the game, there is still nothing to see about the Winterfest 2020, but Epic has sent short patch notes to Fortnite content creators (via Twitter). There, Operation: Snowdown is introduced.
There will be quests, icy items, and new as well as already known LTMs (limited-time game modes). By completing the tasks, you should be able to unlock various rewards. Among the gifts are also 2 skins that you can get for free.
As soon as there is more information about the Winterfest, we will keep you updated here on MeinMMO.
Map Changes
What’s new now? It seems to have become Christmas-like in Fortnite. You can immediately recognize this by the fact that there are snowy areas on the map again. These named locations have been covered in snow:
- Misty Meadows
- Catty Corner
- Lazy Lake
- Retail Row
Data miners have already found pictures of the new map and posted them on Twitter:
Fortnite Performance Mode
What’s new now? With the update 15.10, a performance mode is introduced, aimed at PCs that only meet the minimum requirements for Fortnite. This can be specifically activated in the settings.
The mode increases the performance of the game, but the visual quality is restricted. Fortnite should run more smoothly on older systems and save storage space.
More information about the new performance mode and how to activate it can be found on the official Epic Games page.
120 FPS on Xbox Series and PlayStation 5
What’s new? Not only for PC players did the update bring a big change. Owners of Xbox Series X/S and PS5 can also be happy. These consoles now have the possibility to reach 120 FPS.
In order to consistently achieve 120 FPS, the maximum resolution on Xbox Series X and PS5 is reduced from 4K to 1440p. So if you have a monitor or TV that supports 120 Hz, you now have the first opportunity for that.
Further information about this change can be found on the official Epic Games page.
Not only Christmas and cool festive rewards are getting closer in Fortnite. There is now a beta test where you should bring back your friends who have not played Fortnite for a while. This would be a good moment to reunite your group and explore the winter update together. For the “recruitment,” you will get 4 gifts.
