The update 14.30 in Fortnite is here and brings Halloween decorations to the map, the approach of Galactus, and changes to weapons and items.
The patch notes for the Battle Royale mode in Fortnite have not been released by Epic Games. However, we summarize here the biggest changes that have been noticed in the game so far.
Villain Galactus is getting closer
What’s different? It has been known since the start of the season that there will be a Nexus War in Fortnite along with the Marvel skins. In the trailer that heralded the new season, it was shown how the villain Galactus approaches the Fortnite island.
Now players can actually see the villains and their imminent arrival in the game. In the Battle Pass menu, you can see on the challenge table how Galactus is already in orbit.
Other players have looked up at the sky on the map and discovered that Galactus can even be seen approaching:
New landmark “Shockingcenter”
What’s new? Something has changed on the Fortnite map that is not immediately obvious. West of Holly Hedges, there is a “shopping center” that was added with update 14.20. It has now been turned into a landmark called Shockingcenter.
As the name suggests, it is a creepy building. But the decoration seems to be missing. So far, you can only see the mascot, which is a ghost, as can be seen in the Twitter clip:

Changes for weapons and items
What’s new? With update 14.30, a new function has been added to display weapons and items when they are lying on the ground. If you now “look” at the weapons or items, a window will show you:
- What the weapon is called
- What rarity it belongs to
- How much ammunition is left in the magazine
The amount of ammunition adjusts automatically when shots have already been fired. So you could see at first glance whether you should swap your weapon for another with more ammunition.
Fortnite seems to be slowly approaching the Halloween season and the Nexus War. It should remain exciting in the coming weeks. However, while some are enjoying Season 4 – Chapter 2, iOS players still cannot update. It will likely take a while until the dispute between Epic and Apple is resolved.
