Update 14.20 in Fortnite is here and brings a new location to the map, the new mini-boss Wolverine, his special ability, and the Midas goldfish.
The patch notes for the battle royale mode in Fortnite have not been published by Epic Games on the official site. However, all players who have a creator code in Fortnite received access to summarized patch notes (via Twitter).
Here we summarize the biggest changes that have been noticed in the game so far.
Wolverine as a new boss
What’s new? With update 14.20, a new Marvel superhero has arrived in the Fortnite world as a boss. You can now find Wolverine on the map and eliminate him to gain his special ability.
This new boss seems to be special because unlike Iron Man or Doctor Doom, the superhero has not settled in a specific location.
Players report seeing him at Weeping Woods, Sentinel Graveyard, and the swamps near Slurpy Swamps. A YouTuber found him at the swamps (via YouTube).
We have listed all locations of Wolverine for you, as he is difficult to find.
While Wolverine is listed among all bosses from Season 4, he is the first to appear to move freely.
New location “Super Shopping Center”
What’s new? Something has changed on the Fortnite map that is not immediately apparent. West of Holly Hedges, there is now a new “shopping center” that seems to be dedicated to the Marvel superheroes.
However, upon entering the building, it seems to still be under construction. Together with the gas station, it creates a location where you can loot in peace away from the map.
The last update 14.10 also brought a new location to the map. However, Stark Industries has taken up a significantly larger space on the map.
Midas golden fish finally in the game
What’s new? The golden fish that represents agent chief Midas from Season 2 Chapter 2 has been sought by players for a long time. It was found early in the data at the start of Season 4, but it was not found in the game.
With update 14.20, this is changing now, as the special fish can actually be found in Fortnite, as seen in this clip:
What can the goldfish do? It is no surprise that this Midas fish is coveted. When you catch this fish and use it, it transforms (almost) all the loot you have in your inventory to the strongest rarity: Legendary (Gold).
This makes it easy for anyone to get their hands on the coveted weapons, as you are suddenly fully equipped in one blow.
In the coming days, we will likely see some preparations for Fortnite’s 3rd birthday. This takes place on September 26. We can expect some challenges and cool rewards to celebrate the birthday extensively. A few gifts for you have already been leaked by dataminers.
