Update 13.20 in Fortnite is here and brings a new weapon, a portable upgrade bench, a secret skin, and some bug fixes.
The patch notes for the Battle Royale mode in Fortnite have not been released by Epic Games. However, we summarize the biggest changes that have been noticed so far.
The Flare Gun is now here
What’s new? A new weapon was added with update 13.20. This is the flare gun, which was seen last year in the block party trailer of Fortnite. (via YouTube)
The weapon holds 6 shots in a magazine and behaves similarly to the new firefly grenades. They trigger a fire in their vicinity and cause damage to players.
Here you can see how the new weapon behaves in the game:
Portable Upgrade Bench
What’s new? With update 13.20, it should now be possible to carry upgrade benches in your inventory. This will allow players to upgrade their weapons on the go without having to visit a workbench.
Once a workbench is destroyed, it will drop as a portable item on the ground, and you can carry it in your inventory.
A Hero Comes to Fortnite
What is meant? In an email that Epic sent to content creators, they informed them about update 13.20. It was listed that a hero will soon be coming to Fortnite. (via Twitter)
Dataminers have found the name Captain America in the data and now suspect that this hero is indeed the Captain. The item shop will also reset at 3:00 PM. So the mysterious skin might appear then.
Bug Fixes
What bugs were fixed? In addition to the new things brought by update 13.20, there are also several bugs that Epic has fixed, such as:
- Players no longer take fall damage when jumping from ziplines into shallow water
- Epic and legendary submachine guns can now be reloaded again
- Chug Splashes should now heal again, even when thrown into bushes
- Supply drops no longer push the contained loot under the map
You can find all other bugs that were fixed in the Fortnite Trello.
New in Save the World
New Quest Line: In Fortnite Save the World, the pirates are loose. In the new “Eye Patch Comeback” quest line, you need to help a ghost pirate blend in with the other ghosts.
By completing the quest, you unlock the Chief Riggs for your home base.
All further information about the pirate quest line and what has changed in Save the World can be found on the official Epic Games site.
New Package “Metal Overseer”
What is this package? Starting Thursday, July 2, a new package series will begin in Save the World. The first package in the series is the Metal Overseer package.
It includes a new hero, a weapon schematic, a back accessory, challenges with V-Bucks rewards, and access to the Save the World mode. The package costs €19.99.
This update already brought a new weapon into play, but there is another weapon that might be coming soon. Dataminers have already found some information about it. However, when this weapon will arrive is still unclear. We have summarized the found information about the new dragon shotgun that was leaked.
