The update 12.61 in Fortnite is here and brings new challenges, more style variants for Maya’s cosmetics, and bug fixes.
The patch notes for the Battle Royale mode in Fortnite have not been released by Epic Games. However, we summarize the biggest changes that have been noticed so far.
Unfortunately, there do not seem to be any major changes in the Save the World mode, as Epic has also not released official patch notes for it.
“Storm the Agency” Challenges
The new challenges revolve around the Agency and agent missions. With these, you can unlock 3 rewards: a glider, a weapon wrap, and a pickaxe.
The challenges are scheduled to go live today on Tuesday, May 26th at 16:00 German time. (via Twitter)
Dataminers have already found the upcoming challenges in the files after the update 12.60:
New Style Variants for Maya
With update 12.61 came new style variants for the battle pass skin Maya. Her backpack and pickaxe are now available in 5 different colors:
- Standard
- Brown
- Arctic Camo
- Jungle Camo
- City Camo
Now you can finally customize your Maya completely to your liking.
Bug Fixes
With the patch, several bugs have been fixed. Here are the errors that should be resolved:
- Numbers on soccer jerseys and other sports clothing should be editable again
- No more crashing issues on Windows 7
- Players should no longer get stuck on the loading screen of the mode Operation: Infiltration
- Pickaxe: Bat is back in the game after a bug made it pay2win
All other bugs that Epic Games is working on and are still pending can be seen on the Fortnite Trello.
After update 12.61, dataminers are searching for more clues for the live event at the end of Season 2. There will likely be a few changes on the map, and further hints may appear gradually. Keep your eyes peeled and take a closer look at the Agency until the live event starts on May 30th, 2020.
