The Update 12.40 is live in Fortnite and brings some bug fixes and a map change. We will show you in the German patch notes what has changed in the game.
The patch notes for the Battle Royale mode have not been published by Epic Games. However, we have summarized the biggest changes for you.
Map Change at “The Shark”
What is new? The new location from Season 2 “The Shark” has received a change with Update 12.40. At the location where you meet the mini-boss Skye, you now find a prison.
The basketball court has been fenced off, watchtowers have been set up, and inside you now find countless cells.

Bug Fixes
Which bugs have been fixed? With Update 12.40, a few bugs in the game have been fixed, such as:
- Grenades are back in the normal modes. They remain disabled in Arena mode
- Controllers should now vibrate again when a player is hit
- Midas’s golden touch transforms items and weapons back to gold
- The completion challenge from Skye, where you should interact with Ollie, works properly again
- The challenge: “Pull a foe or henchman with a harpoon gun” now also works with henchmen

New in Save the World
The Blockbuster questline is back: You need to search for the robot Ray, as she has gone missing. For that, you should assemble a superhero team.
By completing the questline, you can unlock the heroes Carbide and Cloaked Star.
Oster Hero returns: The ninja “Brave Bunny Ken” returns with his bunny costume.
He will be available in the event shop starting April 18.
