Twitch streamer Pokimane has received her own emote in Fortnite. This changes the skins in a weird way. We will show you what happens when you use the emote.
What kind of emote is it? As part of the Icon Series, Twitch star Imane “Pokimane” Anys has received the “Poki Emote”.
This was available in the item shop for 500 V-Bucks. It represents a dance that became known through a TikTok video by Pokimane.
In a tweet, the streamer showed her dance video, compared to her Fortnite emote:
Pro player Ninja has even received his own set in the game through the Icon Series, including skin, pickaxe, and emote.
Poki Emote changes skins in a funny way
What happens when you apply the emote? Some players have bought the Poki emote and of course applied it. However, now more and more players are reporting that the emote changes their skins in the lobby.
When performing the “cute” dance, the character suddenly becomes a bit thicker. This only happens during the “selfie part”.
Player xTechFusion20x posted a video on reddit showing that the skin becomes “thicker” when applying the emote:
This change affects not only individual skins, as more and more players notice it on their outfits.
One player even tried the emote on different skins to test whether all outfits are affected:
With the Ikonik skin (far right in the image), the change is very noticeable. His chest looks quite swollen.
Is it a bug or intended?
It is still unclear what this change is all about. It seems to act like a bug that was not actually planned.
What’s interesting is that the Ninja skin also has a built-in feature that changes his skin. Could it be possible that the Poki emote intentionally alters the skins?
Community finds the feature fitting
In the comments, under the video and the image on reddit, there is discussion about whether it is a bug. Some funny remarks arise like:
- “It can’t be a coincidence that the Poki emote makes your skin “thicc”.”
- “That’s what happens when you take a selfie.”
Here, people refer to the Twitch streamer Pokimane, who is referred to as “thicc” (curvier body shape) in the community.
Everyday problems when taking a selfie and suddenly looking much thicker are also described. Whether this change with the emote is intentional or just a bug, it sure looks funny.
