According to the data miner’s information, building is supposed to be disabled in Arena modes and normal game modes.

When can you build again?

Why is Fortnite doing this? Apparently, Fortnite wants to deepen a story here and show the extent of a battle with the IO. But possibly, and this is pure speculation, this is also a test for something bigger.
Since its release, Fortnite has set itself apart from other battle royale games with its building mode, which was the USP. This attracted many players who loved exactly that.
