Fortnite and the conspiracy theories: In Season 3, players found irrefutable evidence that the Tilted Towers would be destroyed by a giant meteor. Epic fueled these speculations with signs on the rooftops of the city.
In the end, it wasn’t as bad as expected; only Dusty Depot was partially destroyed, the resulting crater has been called Dusty Divot since that day.
Even in Season 4, Tilted Towers could have faced destruction: The Visitor launched a gigantic rocket that disrupted the dimensions and turned the swamps of Moisty Mire into a desert. Some were convinced that Tilted Towers would be destroyed by the rocket.
Will the Tilted Towers finally be destroyed?
The Reddit user PuckRedflix is convinced. He published a video connecting the runes displayed on the cube into a pattern that indicates: Tilted Towers.
In total, eight symbols light up repeatedly on the cube. These signs combine to form the silhouette of the notorious city. PuckRedflix deduces that the cube will somehow be responsible for the city’s destruction.
Why should the Tilted Towers be destroyed? According to the community, the city has significantly disrupted the game balance in Fortnite: Battle Royale:
- The city is relatively central on the map and almost always within the first storm circle, allowing more time for gathering loot.
- Due to the many buildings and angles, a considerable amount of loot can be carried from the city, which can provide an advantage in the endgame.
- Since an average of 15-20 players land in the Towers, other points on the map become deserted and boring. Those who want action must land in the city, according to popular opinion.
Even though especially the last point cannot be proven, the Tilted Towers are an annoyance for many players. So will the cube actually level the city? Of course not.
That’s why Tilted Towers will survive this season: Those who have been paying attention will have noticed that parts of the city have continued to be repaired and built up in recent weeks. If the city were to be destroyed, this effort would not have been worthwhile.
Moreover, the cube has temporarily halted its advance across the map of Fortnite: Battle Royale. What it will do next is unknown.
Epic knows how to fuel speculation: The signs on the rooftops of the Tilted Towers in Season 3 were a deliberate distraction by the developer to keep the conspiracy theories alive.
It is highly likely that the symbols on the cube are just another distraction. Also, the arrangement of the symbols does not necessarily have to relate to the Tilted Towers but could mean something entirely different.
What exactly the cube will do and what role the Roadtrip skin will play in it is still unknown. However, it promises to be an exciting story.
