You need to craft a Hunter’s Cloak and then wear it. With the new crafting system in Fortnite, this is very easy. You need to make use of the wild animals you can now find on the map,.
Craft a Hunter’s Cloak
You will need this for the build: First, you must take down wild animals. From them, you will need meat and bones to craft the Hunter’s Cloak. Specifically, you need two bones and one piece of meat. Take down animals like wolves, who drop meat and bones as loot.
How to craft the cloak: Once you have gathered the materials, press the TAB key to open the inventory (PS players press the up arrow, Xbox players press the view button). Now, select the crafting menu using the E key (R1 on PlayStation and RB on Xbox).
Once there, select the meat symbol at the bottom. The recipes will now suggest the Hunter’s Cloak. Select it, and your character will craft it directly at your location using a hammer.
Equipping: Now you have the cloak in your inventory. Select the corresponding inventory slot and equip the cloak with your shoot button. If all goes well, you will now wear the Hunter’s Cloak on your back and have successfully completed the task.
What does the Hunter’s Cloak do?
This is the benefit you get: When you wear the cloak, wild animals will no longer be hostile towards you. At least as long as you are wearing that stinky garment on your back.
While walking with it across the map, you can safely pass by wild boars and wolves. In the description in the game, it states that the animals lose your trail. This is a prerequisite if you want to tame wolves and wild boars.
Is it worth it? If you have enough time and inventory slots left, the Hunter’s Cloak is a nice gimmick. It prevents wild animals from tracking you and revealing your position. This is especially useful when you are hiding, and the opponents around you do not yet know where you are located.
For players who prefer to play aggressively and do not want to hide, the cloak is unnecessary. They would rather use the inventory slot for additional firearms such as the new prehistoric weapons or defensive items.
