In Fortnite, the start date of Season 6 has been confirmed and there will be another big event at the end of the current season. However, the finale of Season 5 will go a bit differently than usual.
When does Season 6 start? The end of Season 5 has been on the table for a while now with March 16, as the end of the Battle Pass. Now the date is confirmed: As the developers explained in a blog post, the new Season 6 will start on 16.03.2021.
However, Season 5 will not simply transition into Season 6, but will – as has become customary – end with a big event. This time, however, it won’t be a proper live event like the fight against Galactus or the concert by Travis Scott. You will experience the Season 5 finale all on your own.
Update, March 10: The storyline of Season 6 is still unknown. However, it seems that Batman will play an important role.
Season 5 ends with a big solo event
This is how the finale of Season 5 works: Instead of starting live in the game at a fixed time, the big event this time will depend on you. It will be a solo event that each player experiences individually as soon as they play for the first time in the new season.
It doesn’t matter when you log in during Season 6. The first time you start the game, the finale will begin for you. However, there will be a world premiere that you can follow as a spectator. More information on this is yet to come.
One thing is clear: With the solo event, Fortnite is changing its success formula.

What happens in the event? The post mentions the “most elaborate story cinematic” experienced in Fortnite so far. It will then follow the “Zero Point crisis finale,” where you will play the end of Agent Jones’ mission yourself.
Throughout the season, Agent Jones has brought more hunters to the island to guard the Zero Point. The Zero Point, however, is becoming increasingly unstable towards the end of the season and seems to be tearing reality apart. The crisis is meant to end in the event, but it will “shake reality to its core”, according to the post.
No further details about what will happen to the game world are available yet. However, a change to the map for the new season is conceivable if the concept of changing reality plays a major role.
This is what happens until the end: In the last days of Season 5, Exotic weapons are cheaper than usual. You should spend your earned Gold Bars since the bar supply is expected to be lost at the end of the season.
That leaves you with just about a week to complete the Battle Pass and, for example, complete the Mandalorian armor. You can find out how to level up quickly in Fortnite here.
