Chapter 5 Season 3: Patch Notes of Fortnite: Battle Royale

Here we list all the new features for Fortnite: Battle Royale.

New Biome: The Wasteland

In Chapter 5 Season 3: Collision, everything revolves around the wasteland and fast-tuned cars. Among the new locations are the Redline Rig, the Nitrodome, and Brutal Beachhead.

The location Snooty Steppes has also been adjusted and renamed to Sandy Steppes. How it has been adjusted was not revealed.

New Items: Nitro Spray and Nitro Canister

According to the patch notes, you obtain both new items through the Redline Rig. They have the following effects:

Nitro Spray is a portable nitro container that you can use to supply your car (or yourself) with nitro
Nitro Canisters are nitro containers that trigger the nitro effect upon contact.

The nitro effect has a different impact on vehicles and players. Here’s how it works:

For Players
- Increased movement speed
- Explosive force upon shoulder tackle, causing damage and applying a forceful push… Run through buildings! (sufficient speed required)
- Reduced stamina consumption (longer sprinting!)
- Increased reload speed
- No fall damage
For Vehicles
- Increased driving speed
- Explosive force upon ramming, causing damage and applying a forceful push (sufficient speed required)
- Reduced fuel consumption
- Improved stats for attached attack modifications

New Weapons: Nitro Fist and Boom Blitz

Players will also receive new toys to fight with in Season 3. These include the Nitro Fists, which make you a real threat in close combat.

The Boom Blitz, on the other hand, is a large crossbow that explodes enemy vehicles with precise shots.

New Tuning for Cars

In Fortnite, you will soon be able to tune your cars. This will allow not only guns to be mounted on the roof, but also cow catchers to be added. The following options will be available:

Machine Gun Turret (Roof Slot)
Grenade Launcher Turret (Roof Slot)
Spiked Bumper (Front Bumper Slot)
Cow Catcher (Front Bumper Slot)
Bulletproof Tires (Tire Slot)
Chonkers Off-road Tires (Tire Slot)

You will obtain the mods through vehicle mod boxes that you can find randomly. However, you don’t have to take the mods out of the box; it is sufficient to drive over them with your car.

If your car is damaged, you can repair it with repair mod boxes or the repair burner. Gas stations have been replaced with service stations that refuel your car and restore its condition.

New Vehicle: War Bus

The Battle Bus has been brought to the new map and can now be driven by you. This armored creature is driven by two patrols. Steal it and run over your enemies in battle.

New Consumables: Nuka Cola and Slurp Cacti

Refreshments are a must in a wasteland, and that’s why Epic Games has provided you with the famous Nuka Cola and spiky Slurp Cacti. Here is what the new items can do:

Nuka Cola restores a small portion of your shields and health
Slurp Cacti restore your health, but you need to hit them with your pickaxe or drive over them

HUD Adjustments on Mobile Devices

To help you better capture the action on mobile, Epic Games has adjusted the HUD. Buttons have been combined to reduce the total number, and symbols have been repositioned. These changes do not affect mobile players with a custom HUD. Additionally, this does not take away the ability to create a custom HUD.

Here we list all the new features for Fortnite Festival.

Pro Guitar and Pro Bass

You can now play the Pro Guitar and Pro Bass on any console and PC, even without a supported guitar controller.
Key mapping support for the Pro Guitar and Pro Bass for keyboard and mouse
You can now consistently play HOPO notes even without strumming.
Regardless of which song part you choose, you can now display the note tracks as multicolored gems (similar to Pro Guitar or Pro Bass).
A new option has been added that allows you to toggle the input labels of the tracks on and off at their bottom edge. For parts that are not played with a pro instrument, this setting is enabled by default, while for parts that are played with pro instruments, it is set to off.
