What’s new: In the early morning of March 8, the servers went offline for maintenance for Season 2 of Chapter 5. In the meantime, all players are sitting in front of their screens waiting for Epic Games to roll out the update. However, the developers have already announced what will change. Patch Notes and New Content for Chapter 5 Season 2
What we know: Epic Games has now officially released the patch notes, and we will summarize and detail them for you.
New Battle Locations
Epic Games has revamped the map and added many ancient POIs (Points of Interests). These include the following examples:
Three major locations have been added, including Hades’ Underworld, Mount Olympus, and Ares’ Arena. Depending on where you are, you can even face the gods themselves.
Divine Powers and Weapons
With Patch 29.00, new content such as powers and weapons comes into play. Some gods possess powers that you can harness to use against your enemies. You can either find these powers and weapons on the map or you can steal them from the gods themselves. The following items are known:
- Zeus Lightning – Divine Power
- Gatekeeper Shotgun – Cerberus Weapon
- Harbinger SMG – Hades MP
- Huntress DMR – Artemis Rifle
- War Forge Assault Rifle – Ares Rifle
- Icarus Wings – Wings for movement
- Hades Chains – New item that will be added later
Weapons from Chapter 5 Season 1 Return
- Hammer Pump Shotgun
- Automatic Rage Shotgun
- Nemesis Assault Rifle
- Thunder Burst SMG
- Reaper Sniper Rifle
- Ranger Pistol
New Mods for Your Weapons
With Update 29.00, two new mods are also added that you can use at your workbenches. Here’s what they are called and what they do:
- Infrared Scope
- Can double the strength of the scope and features a toggleable infrared view
- Tempo Grip
- Increases your movement speed while aiming
Player Matching for Ranked No Build
In Fortnite, player searches for North America (East) and North America (West) are merged into North America (Central) to reduce excessively long wait times and thus create a larger player pool.
More Ranked Changes
- Epic Games has slightly changed progress in the higher ranks to make it harder and thus more rewarding to reach “Unreal”.
- No points will be awarded for surviving without taking damage.
Important Bug Fixes for LEGO Fortnite
Gameplay
- Your builds now collapse less often unexpectedly. We are working on a solution to this problem, especially for builds in caves.
- Wheel attachments are no longer teleported away, which could have damaged builds.
- Players are no longer teleported away when they stand up from a chair.
- Villagers assigned to the loom no longer give incorrect resources.
- Villagers following you can now follow you up stairs!
Stability and Performance
- Leaving caves less often results in game crashes.
- Game crashes occur less frequently in general.
