Update, September 13 – What’s going on in Fortnite right now? The new season begins today, September 13. As usual, the update starts after a longer server downtime, which is supposed to end at 11:00 AM. At this point, players should be able to enter the world of Fortnite again.
At the start of the new season, there will be new content again. This has already been hinted at with new trailers.

- The battle pass trailer has been released. It features skins like the Marvel villain Carnage.
We will keep you updated here as soon as there is more information about new content.
What else might come? Later in the post, leaks and rumors will be gathered that are very likely to also make it into Fortnite. However, since these are leaks, it might be that Epic Games implements certain ideas differently or not at all.
Is Naruto coming to Fortnite?
Leaks suggest that Epic Games has thought of a very special crossover for the new season. If you are a fan of mangas or animes, you should have definitely heard of Naruto. The well-known leaker Shiina reports via Twitter:
The Jinchuriki of the nine-tailed fox may appear in Season 8. According to Shiina, Epic Games acquired the licenses for the project with Naruto and immediately started working to implement him in the next battle pass. However, Naruto apparently is missing in the new battle pass for now – but could play a role later in the season.
Since Naruto has many modes like the Sage Mode or the Six Paths Mode, one could assume that Naruto will have many styles that will need to be unlocked through tasks.
Naruto is expected to be made available at a later point in Season 8. Whether this will be through a cup or via the item shop remains to be seen.
Interesting new weapon in Chapter 2 Season 8
In the above-mentioned Twitter post from Shiina, he refers to a post on Reddit by the FortniteLeaks moderators (via reddit.com). They are said to have a lot of information about the new season. One of them involves a new weapon related to Naruto. It’s explosive kunais.
How they will work remains to be seen. One could assume that they will stick to surfaces and cause area damage, setting everything around them on fire.
Are other weapons from Naruto to be expected? So far, there is no further information about other weapons from Naruto. It would surely be cool if Epic Games decided to include more weapons in the arsenal. The seven legendary swords from Kirigakure could be considered. Since Naruto offers a great opportunity regarding weapons, it would surely be possible to bring more here as well.
New places – Crashed UFO? Pyramids? Kevin?
With a new season, new areas are also created. These map changes make Fortnite exciting again and ensure that it does not become monotonous, just like in the new Season 8. Hypex found, together with tonxim, a mummy skin that could fit the new environment in Season 8. But that’s not all.
Hypex points out that there could also be three environments. These would be:
Pyramids (Pyramid)
Pyramids, sand, and mummies. A large desert in Fortnite would suit the pyramid environment. Since a new way of movement was added in Chapter 2 Season 5, where players had the ability to move quickly under the sand, it could be possible for a large sand area to spread out.
Cubes (Würfel)
This could indicate a renewed meeting with our friend Kevin. Perhaps Kevin is spreading across the map and splitting into several smaller Kevins.
Crash Site (Absturzstelle)
The crash site leaves questions unanswered, as we are currently dealing with a mother ship of the aliens that absorbs our memories from previous seasons. Now that the live event has been confirmed, it is very likely that we will ensure that the mother ship is finally destroyed. The destruction of the mother ship will surely bring about significant changes to the Fortnite map. Stay tuned for what awaits us on September 12 at 10 PM.
Fortnitemares 2021 – What can we expect?
Where does the info come from? In the massive leak from Reddit, a new dimension was also mentioned, called “The Sideways.” In the Reddit post, it was assumed that it bears some resemblance to the parallel world of the series Stranger Things. Among other things, we will deal with creatures from another world that will make our life hell during matches.
Hypex adds that by defeating these monsters, we will receive loot that matches the respective category and allows for more jumps. For example, if you send a super strong one to the afterlife, you get epic or even legendary weapons/items.
Other interesting content ahead – Skins, Unreal Engine 5
We can also expect cool and crazy skins in the future. A new crew pack is expected to feature a new skin named “Ninja Wolf”. This skin will gain styles with every further subscription to the crew pack.
When is the Unreal Engine 5 coming to Fortnite? Epic Games planned to upgrade Fortnite with Unreal Engine 5. Hypex posted on Twitter that the upgrade will take until Season 9.
What will the Unreal Engine 5 bring to Fortnite? With the new Unreal Engine, it will be possible to develop games with better graphics. Players will look more realistic, buildings and plants will appear more natural, and when destruction is called for, as is often the case in Fortnite, the building and destruction of structures could be made more visually appealing.
An engine upgrade often also results in improved performance or more graphics options (at least on PC).
