Epic has once again made changes to the “Infinity Gauntlet” mode in Fortnite via patch. The goal is that while Thanos is powerful, more people can play as Thanos.
This was the problem: The problem was likely that Thanos could withstand too much. He has a 200-point shield and 800 health points. Every time he kills someone, his shield fully regenerates. So, you need to destroy the shield and then deal damage to Thanos without him eliminating anyone. The health pool of 800 was simply too large. Whoever was Thanos remained Thanos for a long time. Just a few days ago, Epic had already changed the mode, but that wasn’t enough. Now they have improved it once more.
This is how Epic solves the problem: They have reduced the health points from 800 to 500. In compensation, Thanos now deals more damage. His laser beam now inflicts 20 damage points on players, previously it was 12. Additionally, the damage from his punch has increased from 80 to 100 points. The changes are already active.
Further changes to the “Infinity Gauntlet” mode:
- Now only rare, epic, and legendary items should appear in the “Infinity Gauntlet” mode.
- The Infinity Gauntlet now appears much later; instead of “Bus Tour and 30-45 seconds,” it now takes “Bus Tour and 120-135 seconds” until the first Gauntlet is in the game.
- The first three storms deal significantly less damage.
- The first storm circle is larger.
- The Battle Bus flies lower now.
This is Epic’s intention with the patch: The one who is Thanos should feel powerful and go all out as long as they are wearing the Gauntlet. However, more people should also have the chance to become Thanos.
What do the fans say? Some fans now view the mode critically. Many supposed victims focus on becoming Thanos. Clever players ruthlessly farm those who blindly chase after the Gauntlet. From a tactical perspective, some see it as unwise to become Thanos and paint a gigantic target on themselves since everyone is now after them. They farm kills by playing tactically and not going for Thanos.
