The Austrian Fortnite World Champion 2019 “COOLER aqua” has been banned from the FNCS tournament. Initially, he was only warned, but his attempt to defend himself led to his ban. He is said to have violated the rules twice.
What kind of tournament is this? The FNCS (Fortnite Champion Series) is currently running in trio mode. The finals will take place from Saturday, October 31 to November 1, 2020. The former duo world champion also wanted to qualify for this and show what he is capable of as a duo world champion, but a 2-week ban will make that impossible.
Initially warned, then banned
What happened? The Fortnite world champion participated in the qualification rounds with his teammates when they faced off against another strong team: Benjyfishy, MrSavage, and LeTsHe.
The “Shakedown” is a feature introduced in Season 2 – Chapter 2. In this feature, players can interrogate an opponent when they are downed. As a result, the location of their teammates becomes visible. With this advantage, players can thus hunt and attack opponents directly.
This was also the plan of Benjyfishy and his teammates, but COOLER aqua threw a wrench in their plans and left the game before they could interrogate him (via Twitter clip). For this action, the world champion initially received a warning from Epic:
A warning is meant to make the player aware of their misconduct without immediate consequences. However, when he tried to play again the next day, he saw that he had been banned by Epic. A specific reason for this was not provided at first.
This is how aqua reacted to the ban: The duo world champion apparently assumed it was about the premature elimination and seemed to feel unfairly treated since others did the same.
On Twitter, he showed many other participants who also left the game before they could be interrogated by opponents. He does not seem to understand why they are not banned for it and he is.

Attempt to defend himself led to the ban
What was the reason for the ban? aqua has since contacted Epic Games to find out what exactly led to his ban. In a statement on Twitter, he explained the situation in more detail.
The warning was issued for his behavior in the game, but the ban is said to have been caused by 2 tweets he posted after the warning. These are said to have violated Fortnite rules, but which ones exactly is not known.
The world champion also stated in his statement that he would accept the ban, but is saddened that he cannot participate in the rest of the FNCS with his team. However, he would pay attention to ensure that such behavior does not happen again in the future.
In another tournament, 4 Fortnite professionals were banned from the game for 2 months. They had teamed up to gain unfair advantages.
