In Fortnite, the alleged challenges for Week 8 are already known. Dataminers have found hints for the challenges, but much remains vague.
Datamining reveals leak of the challenges: The tasks for Week 8 have already been found early this time and provide an overview of what is likely to happen when the new tasks of the week arrive on Thursday. As always, this information is based on datamining and may not necessarily be accurate.
The free challenges without a Battle Pass in Season 5, Week 8
Set traps (10): If this task remains the same, you can be glad. Because before you had to deal damage with traps or even eliminations. If it suffices to just place 10 traps somewhere, that’s not a problem.
Search chests at Wailing Woods (7): Wailing Woods has few chests and is very expansive and remote. Therefore, searching for chests there won’t be fun.
Eliminate opponents with shotguns (4): Shotguns are still good close-range weapons. Getting four kills at some point should be no problem.
For these 4 tasks in Week 8 you need the Battle Pass
Deal damage to opponents with the pickaxe (250): This task is easier than one might think. You can start it if you land in busy places and hit an opponent without a weapon with your pickaxe.
And then there are various team modes where you shoot down an opponent and then finish the helpless one off with the pickaxe. That counts too and 250 damage is really not much.
Use a rift at different rift spawn locations: There was already a challenge with rifts. So this task could be a placeholder. Or it’s a new kind of rift that is yet to be introduced to the game and possibly has to do with the cube.
Search between three oversized chairs (1): The usual treasure hunt task. Maybe the big chair and other giant furniture are meant?
Phase 1: Eliminate opponents at Greasy Grove (1): This task will be the “eliminate opponents at location X” challenge. However, you will probably have to move from one place to another to complete it. Even in Week 7 there was such a “phase” task where Epic sent one across the map.
