In Fortnite the Season 6 has started with a wild event where everyone fought against everyone. Among the losses was a friendly banana – once again.
This is what happened: Those who start new in Season 6 of Fortnite will witness an epic solo event that begins with a hefty dose of chaos.
In a frantic battle around the zero point, various characters are going berserk. Fortnite agent Jones dives into the melee and is attacked by a Xenomorph, war god Kratos fights against a pancake man, and the Predator engages in a duel with a muscle ache. In short: things are getting quite wild.
In the midst of the chaos, a character who has become a staple in Fortnite waves at the running agent Jones. This is Schali – a banana-human hybrid, who originally came in Season 8 and later appeared in various versions multiple times. There was Summer Schali, Agent Schali – you can imagine it.
But the reunion of Jones and Schali is only short-lived. Because while Schali is friendly waving while staring into the camera, he gets hit from the right by a “Hadouken” – an energy ball from the Street Fighter legend Ryu.
The humanoid piece of fruit doesn’t survive that. Schali bursts and his insides are spread all over the stressed Jones. Ryu celebrates the treacherous attack in the background with a victory pose, but then he himself gets hit by a rocket.
In the Fortnite subreddit, Schali’s end is discussed in multiple posts. Some users believe, however, that the farewell will not be of long duration. Because this is not the first time that Schali has fallen victim to the events of the Fortnite story.
The Infinite Banana
Not Schali’s first death: Besides the fact that the banana skin will probably be shot down in countless Fortnite matches anyway, Schali has also successfully survived the story scene death.
When Season 9 started in Chapter 1, the piece of fruit was actually caught once before. At that time, the banana and the character Jonesy were stuck in a bunker. While they initially had a fun time together, at some point the supplies ran out.
At that point, Jonesy evidently decided to let any moral concerns fade away and made a smoothie out of Schali. He even fashioned a cape out of the peel. A rather brutal end to a short friendship, that MeinMMO author Jürgen Horn found really dark back then.
Later, the banana returned in a bony half-skeleton half-vitamin supplier version: for Fortnitemares, meaning after the blender incident, he returned as a horror skin.
The blender death did not keep Schali from returning and then also – again in his original form – being part of the fight for the zero point. So … at least for a short time.
Therefore, it is likely safe to assume that we have not seen the last of Schali. However, the banana is currently not included in the new Battle Pass. You can find all the contents of the new Battle Pass in Season 6 here.
