In Fortnite: Battle Royale a new shotgun is coming soon. It is an epic and legendary version of the well-known tactical shotgun. But which weapon will be removed?
What kind of shotgun is it about? Surprisingly, without any prior leaks, the announcement appeared in-game that a new shotgun will be coming with the upcoming update for Fortnite. However, it will not be a completely new gun, but an epic and legendary version of the well-known tactical shotgun.
The “Tac” has been in the game since the beginning and is usually available at most as a green version. In the meantime, there was also a less spectacular purple (epic) version.
The new epic and legendary versions are completely redesigned and have a stylish new look. However, due to a lack of leaks, nothing is known about the stats yet.
When is the new shotgun coming? The new shotgun is expected to be released with the next update, which is likely to come on Wednesday, July 17.
Will there soon be 5 shotguns in the game?
Are old weapons being removed? With the new version of the Tac, there will be an unheard-of number of shotguns in the game. There will then be a total of 5 different weapons/variants. Therefore, fans strongly assume that one of the existing shotguns will be removed from the game. But which one?
- Pumpgun: The regular shotgun just came back and is a fan favorite. It is unlikely that it will be removed.
- Regular tactical shotgun: This weapon could be removed in favor of the better epic/legendary version. However, this is contradicted by a clever conspiracy theory.
- Drum shotgun: This weapon is hated because people either find it too weak or too strong. But since it just came in, it is unlikely to be removed again.
- Combat shotgun: This weapon just came into the game with the start of Season 9. But it has a strange role as a weapon that fires quickly and has good range. Therefore, many fans think it might be removed again now.
It is also possible that Epic will keep all weapons in the game and really increase the pool to 5 shotguns. However, this would anger many players and pro Tfue, who already find the loot pool completely chaotic and annoying.
What do fans say about the new weapon? On Reddit, fans are already discussing the new weapon. Curiously, many voices this time are not as negative as in previous announcements about new shotguns. As long as another shotgun is removed, fans seem to appreciate a legendary or epic Tac:
- “I love the Tac so much, it deserves all of this!”
- “I’m in! The regular Tac is good, the epic/legendary version should be great.”
- “Finally another purple/golden shotgun!”
Just the design of the new weapon is well-received, leading many fans to forgive Epic for yet another shotgun:
- “I’m not lying when I say that the design is pretty awesome.”
- “It looks like the damn Halo shotgun!”
- “The design looks crazy as hell!”
- “It looks so damn cool!”
