Fortnite: Battle Royale starts a crossover with Walking Dead. Skins of characters from the series have been announced to be coming soon to the Item Shop. MeinMMO shows you what they look like.
What has been announced? At the Game Awards 2020, which took place on the night of December 10 to December 11, Epic announced a crossover for Fortnite. The collaboration will be with The Walking Dead and brings:
- A skin for the character: Michonne
- A skin for the character: Daryl Dixon
- 2 pickaxes, which are otherwise used by the two characters as weapons against the “walkers”
For the announcement, Epic created a mini-trailer that shows how Jonesy (the main character of Fortnite) brings the two “hunters” from the zombie-infested world to the Fortnite map. Here you can see the trailer:
When will the skins be released? The release of the Walking Dead skins has been announced for December 16, 2020. In Germany, however, due to the time difference, it might be on Thursday, December 17 at 1:00 AM, as that is when the Item Shop updates.
The next hunters are coming
Why are characters from Walking Dead coming to Fortnite? As seen in the Battle Pass trailer for Season 5, Jonesy recruits the best hunters from other worlds. This leads to some characters from other games or series coming into the game.
After Galactus was on the island and exposed the Zero Point again, everyone can now escape from the Fortnite island. Jonesy’s task is to prevent this, and he seeks help from the toughest hunters.
Michonne and Daryl Dixon are known from the series The Walking Dead, where they hunt the walkers, the zombies of the series. Michonne is known for fighting through hordes with her katana sword.
Daryl Dixon is often seen with a knife in each hand for close combat or his special weapon: the crossbow, which he uses for silent kills. With their skills, they seem to qualify for the Fortnite hunter team.

In Fortnite Season 5, a lot seems to be coming our way. Data miners have already found a lot of weapons in the data that are not yet in the game. If all of these appear in Season 5, players could expect 12 new weapons.
